I'm delighted to announce that our dry spell has broken, in the lower south of Western Australia. We have had fairly good rain the past two days, but sadly, in some places they also had gale force winds that did a lot of damage.

Nice to hear. My fingers are crossed that it doesn't go to the other extreme and create heavy run-offs and floods with the ground all drought baked.

Yay for rain, boo for wind!

Hello Eve. I don't know how long things have been dry, but it sounds like the rain's made a very welcome return. Did you take any photos?

I'll trade you some of our rain for some of your dry :D. Here in NSW we've had almost 200 mls in 48 hrs, it's been crazy! Gale-force winds, flooding, cold :(. QLD got it worse, though, from what I heard.

Glad to hear you guys over there are getting some of this, though, I know you need it :).

Oh, and I have been really enjoying the latest shots. You take some brilliant photos :)

Whatever I did, I didn't do it!

Just when I thought summer was never going to end, it is so nice to see rain again. I could live without the wind though.

Maybe now Kings Park will start to regrow, so far only the big trees, cycads and a few brave vines are growing in the places that were burned.

That's a relief to hear! We're getting some nice rain ourselves, now that the snow seems to be over :-)
