Frog Killer

We have been trying to attract frogs to our pond for quite some time now, so when we heard a regular croak, croak coming from that area a week or so ago we were thrilled to think that we had a frog who was eagerly seeking a mate.

I crept down to the pond several times, but the croaks were coming from inside the thick mass of reeds at the side of the pond. But still, we eagerly awaited our Romeo to find his Juliet and give us a much wanted family of frogs.

As his calls got louder and more frantic, a visitor, in the form of a kookaburra was seen sitting on the garden arch near the pond. All was silent and the frog has been heard no more. So sad.
